Julz(Juliya Tamarkina) entered the exciting world of ballroom dancing at the tender age of 5. Originally from Ukraine, she found her home in Brooklyn, NY over 25 years ago, before finally making her way to Boca Raton, Florida. Julz owes her first dancing experience to her mom, who took her to her very first lesson many years ago.

Fully versed in all major Latin, Rhythm, and Ballroom styles, Julz quickly climbed to the top of the competitive circuit. She has traveled around the world representing the USA in International Ballroom DanceSport competitions. Julz was fortunate enough to have trained with some of the best and most famous dance instructors in the world. Including Goron Nordin, VibikeToft, Michael Wentik, Slavik Kryklyviy, Karina Smirnoff, Gary and Diana McDonald, Eugene Katsevman and Maria Manusova, Bryan Watson and Carmen, Louis Van Amstel, and many others.

While continuing to work on her success in the competitive world, Julz has also realized the great reward that comes with giving back to her community. She has been teaching adults and children since she was 13 years old. She has taught in various dance studios in NYC including Latin Fiesta, Kings Dance Sport Center, Dance and Art, Ballroom on 5th, Phillips Dance Studio, Soho Dance, Arthur Murray and many others. One of her greatest passions is choreography and teaching others about the amazing world of DanceSport.

Julz spent the last 20 years performing shows in Ballroom, as well as Hip-Hop, Jazz, and Modern dance. That passion grew into her own multi-specialty entertainment company called Mélange Entertainment. In 2006 Julz was featured on Fox’s popular reality show So You Think You Can Dance (season 2), with her former partner Stanislav Savich, where she made it to the top 40, from tens of thousands of contestants of different styles of dance. She was later one of the 20 hand picked dancers for a tour of a dance extravaganza called «Floorplay», with a world-renowned dance company Burn The Floor. Julz has also performed and trained under the direction of one of the world’s greatest Belly dancers and teachers, Anna Pipoyan.

She has even performed at the welcoming party for Ambassador of Dubai in New York, Al Otaiba, with guests like Beyonce, Patti LaBelle, Ashanti, Star Jones, Pharelle, and many more. Julz has also expanded her expertise to Social Dancing such as Hustle and Salsa (on 1 and on 2). After taking great interest in this particular field of dance, she was eager to combine it with her training in competitive latin/rhythm/ballroom and other styles, to create a truly unique style of dance expression.
